12th Annual James P. Sullivan Exposure Basketball Games Final Nomination Period is Open
By PSAL Staff Reporter

The 12th Annual PSAL James P. Sullivan Basketball Games will, once again, be held at Riverbank State Park. This three-day event will run from Monday, September 27 through Wednesday, September 29, 2004. In honor of the late James P. Sullivan, the games allow the top PSAL boys and girls basketball players to showcase their talents for perspective college coaches and recruiters. The boys games (open to all NCAA Division II, III, and junior college coaches), are scheduled for Monday, September 27th and Wednesday, September 29th from 5:00-9:00 PM. The girls games (open to all NCAA Division I, II, III and junior college coaches), are scheduled for Tuesday, September 28, 2004.

Schedule as follows:

Monday, September 27th 5:00-9:00PM Boys Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island

Tuesday, September 28th 5:00-9:00PM Girls All Boroughs

Wednesday, September 29th 5:00-9:00PM Boys Bronx & Manhattan

Coaches may select no more than three (3) worthy seniors who will benefit from the exposure. Coaches and players must check the PSAL website regularly prior to the games in order to receive information pertaining to the event. It is important to note that players nominated must meet the academic eligibility requirements of the PSAL and have a medical on file at their school. Only players listed and posted on the official PSAL rosters will be allowed to play.

The final player nomination period is from September 10, 2004 to September 20, 2004 at 5:00pm. Coaches must submit all nominations electronically via this website. Coaches who nominated players in the early nomination period will have an opportunity to amend and/or update information they previously entered.

The organizing staff will formulate teams once all nominations have been received and rosters will be posted online along with game schedules. A link for the parental permission forms for athletes will also be found on this site. Each student must have a parental consent form and current medical form (within the last calendar year) on file at the school prior to receiving a nomination from their coach. By nominating a player, coaches are confirming that a parental consent form has been received.

All participating student-athletes should arrive by 4:30 pm and bring their sneakers, shorts and a T-shirt. Locker rooms will be available to change clothes and to store equipment (you must bring your own lock). Game jerseys will be provided by the PSAL. In addition, all participants must present their school I.D. card upon arrival at the event in order to play in the games. Please note: All participating student-athletes MUST attend the mandatory educational seminar provided by the PSAL at the Sullivan Games.

As in the past, please log onto “Forms Electronic”, submit your last name and file number, for access to the nomination page.
