on RADIO NEW YORK 91.5 FM
The PSAL football Championship Division playoffs commence this weekend with eight first round games, in a Sweet 16 Sunday. As they say in Texas, “It’s WIN or go play basketball.” We’ll continue our weekly procedure and review last week’s results, plus breakdown this week’s encounters on a PSAL Playoff Football Friday, ‘Fun for the Entire Family’ edition of the Award Winning "On the Sidelines" with Vinny Aceto, Friday, November 6, 2009 at 1 PM.
This week we take the ferry and spend the full hour in Staten Island. On first down, in our “chalk talk” segment we’ll converse with Time Warner Cable’s play-by-play voice Nick Legakis about football in the forgotten borough. Topics will include the PSAL, CHSAA and the postseason as he gets ready to call a first round playoff game when Tottenville hosts Port Richmond on Sunday.
We’ll preview the massive all Staten Island affair between Tottenville and defending City Champion Port Richmond when Pirates assistant coach and former member of our WNYE Sports Announce Family, Pete Moog visits with us.
In addition, we’ll have some sideline chatter regarding the Cup Division when Anthony Cialdella (Mckee-Staten Island Tech) joins us to discuss what amounts to a possible play-in game with Petrides on the last day of the Cup regular season.
If you’re looking to score straight A’s in high school sports, make sure you get to school on time. Class is in session every Friday, at 1:00 PM on Radio New York 91.5 FM your ticket to High School Sports throughout the entire year in New York City.
